The tour begins in San Fernando,  a town 140 km from Santiago. The inter-city buses are modern, air-conditioned, comfortable and very reasonably priced.

 Turbus operates buses from the Santiago airport (SCL) to the Santiago city bus station. Buses run every 10 minutes, from 5 am to 1 am, 7 days a week. The cost is $1,900 Chilean pesos (Sept. 2019). 

The Santiago bus station has two terminals, side by side. One terminal is solely for Turbus and the other houses all other bus companies. When you arrive at the Turbus Terminal you cross a side street to Terminal Santiago (See photo) to continue to San Fernando.

 

Andimar bus company operates buses from Santiago Terminal to San Fernando, about every half hour, 5 am to 8 pm. Price is $5,000 Chilean pesos (about $8 US):
